1. What MyGetawayBuddy is
MyGetawayBuddy is an introduction platform. We let you describe a trip, pass that request to travel agents operating in the relevant country, and show you the quotes they send back.
We are not a travel agent or tour operator. We do not sell, operate, supply or resell any trip, transport or accommodation. The contract for your trip is between you and the agent whose quote you accept. MyGetawayBuddy is not a party to it.
2. Quotes and prices
- Any estimate shown before an agent quotes is indicative only. It is calculated from vehicle rates and route distance and is not an offer.
- A quote from an agent is that agent’s offer to you, on their terms, and is valid until the expiry shown on the quote.
- Accepting a quote forms your agreement with that agent at the accepted price and declines the other open quotes for that trip.
- What a price does and does not include is set by the agent and shown on their quote. Read it before accepting.
3. Payment
MyGetawayBuddy charges travellers nothing — no booking fee and no commission added to your price. You pay the agent directly, on the terms they set. We never take your card details, never hold your money, and are not able to process a refund. Any refund is a matter between you and your agent, governed by the cancellation terms on their quote.
4. Cancelling and changing a trip
You can amend a trip request from My Trips while it is still pending, and you can cancel a trip at any point before it starts — including after accepting a quote. Cancelling on MyGetawayBuddy withdraws the open quotes and notifies the agents. It does not by itself entitle you to a refund of anything already paid to an agent; that depends on their cancellation terms.
5. Your account and accuracy
You need a Google account to sign in. You agree to give accurate contact details and trip information — agents quote and plan on the basis of what you tell them, and a wrong date or passenger count is not something we can put right for you afterwards.
6. Reviews
You may review a destination and the agent you travelled with. Reviews are moderated before publication. We will not publish reviews that are abusive, defamatory, contain someone’s personal information, or that we can see are not from a real traveller. A review linked to a verified booking is labelled as such. We do not remove a review simply because an agent objects to it.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit trip requests you have no intention of taking, or otherwise waste agents’ time;
- use the platform to send spam, scrape data, or circumvent rate limits;
- impersonate anyone, or post content you do not have the right to post;
- attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the service.
We may suspend accounts that do these things.
8. Agents
Agents apply per country and are approved by us before they can quote. Approval and the Verified badge mean we checked the credentials the agent supplied. They are not a guarantee of the quality, safety or legality of any trip an agent provides, and we do not supervise agents’ day-to-day operations.
9. Limits on our responsibility
We provide the platform “as is” and take reasonable care to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Because we are an introduction platform, we are not responsible for the performance of any trip, the conduct of any agent or driver, or any loss arising from them. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use MyGetawayBuddy after a change means you accept the updated terms.
