What we do
MyGetawayBuddy is a marketplace for local travel agents. You describe the trip you want once; vetted agents in that country send you binding quotes; you compare them on price, on what each one actually includes, and on the agent’s track record with other travellers. Then you book with whoever you think is right.
We are deliberately not a tour operator. We do not run trips, employ the drivers, or set the prices. The people who do that are local businesses who know their own roads, seasons and national parks far better than any central booking desk could.
Why quotes rather than fixed prices
A fixed catalogue price sounds simpler, but it hides the thing that actually varies: who is taking you, in what vehicle, with what included. Letting agents quote lets them compete on the whole package. It also means a good agent can win your booking without being the cheapest — which is the only way a marketplace stays worth using.
How we keep it honest
- Ratings and review counts come only from travellers with a verified booking. We never seed, buy or invent them.
- A new agent shows “no reviews yet” rather than a flattering placeholder score.
- The Verified badge means a person on our team checked that agent’s tourism licence or business registration — not that they paid for the badge.
- We take no booking fee and no commission on your trip price, so we have no incentive to steer you towards the most expensive quote.
